Health Stores Ireland members commit to a high level of training. Our member stores are known throughout Ireland for our singular commitment to the quality of the advice we offer, springing from our deep desire to offer real health improvements to our communities. To this end our members engage in a comprehensive training initiative that incorporates induction, ongoing training and further development.

It is a requirement of membership that all members and staff, responsible for advising customers, be fully trained in the use and application of the Protocol for Customer Care which enables health store staff in making safe and appropriate choices.

Health Stores Ireland facilitate specialised training with our partners the Health Food Institute to offer a Diploma in Health Food Retailing Diploma 1 and Professional Diploma 2, a deeper dive into products and complementary therapies.

With our business training & mentoring partners ISME/Skillnet, Health Stores Ireland design and deliver bespoke training in the changing aspects of retailing. Knowledge Accredited, a six-module webinar delivered course with modules covering customer experience, retailing selling skills, farm to fork food journey, microbiome, metabolic health and optimal health.

Our members receive ongoing mentoring and training around a wide range of operating skills and essential knowledge to sustain a successful and profitable business. Topics include health and safety, book-keeping, margin control, stock control, HR, VAT Returns, merchandising and procurement.
